There is no doubt that the Northern league is falsely strong. I can only speak for myself, but I believe quite firmly that the quality of the Northern league now is far higher than six years ago when Guisborough last played in it.Mark Cowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03244486279878280565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491441237570883705.post-21780269512851762272011-12-22T21:59:03.094-08:002011-12-22T21:59:03.094-08:00I think the onus is on the FA to make it financial...I think the onus is on the FA to make it financially viable for clubs to make the step up, either by promoting three or four together, switching to an East-West rather than North-West split in the Evostik or by offering inducements like higher prize money. While clubs can, to an extent, control wage costs, travel expenses are bound to be significantly higher and the effect on crowds is likely to be negligible. Whitley Bay get 500 now for Northern League games. They aren't going to get any more for Bamber Bridge or Radcliffe Borough.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11492434940865733042noreply@blogger.com
